I brew green, everywhere. How can a weekend that starts like this not be super ! Carrying this everywhere I go. Reading it chapter by chapter. The lifelong work highlighting the significance of unpaid and unrecognised women’s work and the real lives of millions of women in the Global south-something we recognise now as critical in every conversation related to women and work. Must read for anyone working on gender, development, grassroot activism, labour. Because 2018 deserves a plan. Starting on an auspicious day. #make2018count
When CASI at UPenn turned 25. @rahulpandita1 was on a terrific media panel. I had to skip my politics panel, sadly. #latergram The real reason for the picture. I just love my FabIndia sari here gifted by @oliveochreteal This was one of the rare times I got it right when I paired the sari with an @anntaylor shirt. Today’s harvest. #tomatolove When it’s a packed day and you are reminded of lazy days! #tripsof2018 #latergram #colombodiaries
I said good bye to my 30s in the company, love, warmth, laughter and insanity of some of my closest friends. Some are far away, some couldn’t make it. These are all such terrific, bad-ass women who I love dearly. This love, between us demands our authenticity. It demands our courage, our fullness, our completeness with our faults and aches. We are each other’s back, we are morning walks and Sunday coffees. Through listening we make ourselves heard. We reach out and pull back. We push each other to be comfortable both in our skin and our shoes. I loved and hated my 30s alike. I found the hum of life, embraced and took a big bite of it. I was also knocked out hard. I spent years in anger, confusion, vulnerable and healing. The sisterhood (and some men) saved me. They heard me, ignored me, knocked sense into me, flooded me with their love, time, patience and generosity. To another decade of these smiles. And I am told the best decade is only beginning. @radhiksghai we missed clicking while you were there. #turning40 Ogle away at my lovelies. .#tomato #tomatolove #make2018count Doing #sundaymornings talking all things under the sun with @oliveochreteal for ages now!
